We came across these crazy television monitors from Hannspree over Christmas while window-shopping in Beverly Hills.
We were happy to see that while these can be bought online, the only US stores are on the west coast with the Bev. Hills local the only spot in LA.
There are three lines to choose from: one for kids, one for sports enthusiasts and one for trendies. The Monitors start at $299, so the idea of dressing up your Television is not a bank breaker.
These must be about to blow up because we also noticed them over at Cool Hunting today, too. How weird is that?

what a cool store... and it's a Taiwanese company! Bravo!
Not sure why Taiwanese is important... and in any event Hannspree did the sensible thing and hired a product design company to do the design (think or the original Apples....)
I think I recently saw these on "I want that" or one of those shows on HGTV or Fine Living.
Thought they were silly and the screens are way too small.

it's not about its product design, it's about its ability to break into a giant market like U.S. THAT is really something!
Imelda, sorry to beat a dead horse, but Hannspree is a pretty big company worldwide and they hired a pretty well-known American Business Unit owner to run the product/launch. And in the interests of full disclosure, some of my friends (at Ideo and Frog Design, again, the two biggest id companies in the world) designed most of the product line.
Turquoise-- check them out in person-- some of the options are silly, but some of them are cool, cute, fun, stylish-- a lot of dfferent options. I was really skeptical when I heard about the project but pleasantly surprised whne I saw them in-store. (ok, enough pimping!)
I'm aware it's a global company, which was just established in 2004. It's a spin-off company by HannStar Display, which was established in 1998. Don't you think that's really something? being an asian company and within less than 10 years has become a big global company? not very many asian companies can do that... well, it's just a piece of my admiration though... peace.
