Last week, we featured the release of Arne Jacobsen's AJ Lamp in a rainbow of colors. This week, we just learned of another Danish design classic being released in new hues. For the Wishbone Chair's 60th anniversary, 12 new colors of the chair will be released starting with these four lovely shades of blue.

We have been long admirers of the chair's design and craftsmanship and now we can add the color of the chair to that list. Thanks to the collaboration between Wegner and Carl Hansen & Son, we can be sure that Wegner's legacy of quality will continue.
The cooperation between Carl Hansen & Son and Hans J. Wegner began in 1949. Wegner, who trained as a master cabinetmaker before he became a designer, worked closely with Holger Hansen and his team of craftsmen to find a way to bring Wegner’s daring designs into series production. The first models, including “The Wishbone Chair”, were introduced in 1950.
Since then Carl Hansen & Son have crafted a wide range of other Wegner chairs and tables. Many of these have achieved status of as collectors’ items and design icons in their own right.
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of this iconic chair by Danish furniture designer Hans J. Wegner, Carl Hansen & Son will be releasing 12 new colors starting with four in the blue palette followed by four green hues in May and another palette in October. Chairs will be available for $930 each.

Do you/anyone have details about that hanging lamp?
I need it, immediately.
Forget the dining room chairs! Where's that other comfy looking blue chair from?!
Love them, but not for $930.
Kay the lounge chair is also a Hans Wegner and can be purchased though a Coalesse furniture dealer-

The lamp looks like the Fun 1DA Pendant by Verner Panton
Love the color but think the room comes across as overly stylized to a fault.
I like.
"...think the room comes across as overly stylized to a fault."
Um -- Most catalog photos are.
"Where's that other comfy looking blue chair from?!"
It's also a Wegner Chair - the CH445.

anyone know where the dining chairs can be purchased at less than $930 a chair?
what do we think of the colour? I like it but think that its a real commitment that would have to work perfectly for someone who intends to keep them that colour for a long time
brocktontriangle- not going to be able to get these chairs for much less, they list at 1392.00 I think the sell is 40% off list price and then the dealer mark up. My friend works for Coalesse ( a Steelcase company) and I know I could get them for around 700.00 at best.
@LoriSF - Wow, that's one expensive dealer for the CH445 at $7699! You can get it many other places for $4500-5000.
It happens to be the most comfortable chair I've ever had the pleasure of sitting in.
Bought my pair of blue Wishbone chairs at Scandinavian Design in NY for a great price. They also sell the Hans Wegner Wing chair on the image. I don't know the price, but if the prices are comparable with the Wishbone's, it should be the best you can get.
