=D One of my absolute favorite composers! I love playing his pieces too! I have the opportunity to have my old piano when we get a place, but I can't stand the thought of separating it from my parents... my mom absolutely loves it.
I love Chopin too, but my small hands make it hard to play some things which involve 10ths, but that's another story.
I love these images, and somehow, pianos always make a place look homey, yet elegant.
Now, is there a photo that shows an electric piano? Because I have yet to find a way to make all the wires and amps look right in a living room. :(
This is a very timely feature - not only because of Chopin, but also because my hubby and a builder are at this very moment putting up a partition wall between our LR and our DR so that we have somewhere to place our old recently-inherited piano. Which side of the wall is the big question: I prefer the DR but the rest of the family is dubious!
I love that my wife has a baby grand and plays it well, but it has made moving to new places so difficult. Whenever we have looked at homes, the piano is the first thing considered.
This makes me so excited! My piano has never been moved out of my parent's house (why bother for short term rentals?), and now it'll be moved in just a few short months!! This has me thinking about how I'm going to incorporate it into our dining room...
In honor of Chopin's birthday, how about removing all the stuff on these pianos? :)
Thanks for hilighting some of the ways that you can frame art above a piano. It would be nice if you did a feature on digital keyboards in the home as well, since I know a lot of folks have them!
Chopin, or Szopen - the original spelling in his & my native language ;-), is my favorite ever composer! I was lucky to live in one co-op house where a beautiful piano was the main feature of its living room, and another place where my landlord/roommate displayed hers, also in the living room, though she never played it. I would love to one day afford a piano & take some lessons! These images are gorgeous... Thank you for celebrating Chopin's birthday!
Chopin's dad was French, so that is the original French spelling. :)
