Ok, so two thoughts spring to mind immediately:
1. What the? People do this? Awesome!
2. What if this was next door? Any neighbors even remotely interested in trying to one up this dude might as well hang up their decorating battle armor right now and say uncle.
It looks like this is one in a series of videos of musical, light-filled decor from this resident of Riverside, California.
According to the YouTube info, its got: 4 singing pumpkin faces, tombstones, hand carved pumpkins, strobes, floods and thousands of lights. Most all lights have been changed from incandescent to RGB LED so power consumption is a lot less than previous years. Also DMX added to show. All lights, faces and props are custom made (DIY) by me except for the roof line which are CCRs. Controlling channels have gone up 8X from last year. 1144 channels.

AMAZING!
I wouldn't even care if it kept me up all night. So worth it!
wow!
WOW!!!!! That's all I can say. WOW!!!!!!
How are the people driving by not running off the road?
It's not just the lights, it's the music too. How often can you hear "Party Rock" before it gets old?
OK, I'm just going to assume that you all are being sarcastic. This is a big no.
Funstraw does not live up to their name!
I think this is pretty fun, although I'm assuming that he doesn't actually play the song over and over again until the season is over. I bet everyone in the neighborhood looks forward to a different performance every year (even if they may hate it by the end of the holiday). Haha.
This is probably the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life, and I'm not joking. I wish I was a neighbor of theirs.
I am not being sarcastic, I think that is really really cool.
year round, a bit dimmed, fading slowly (in different directions, inward, outward, w/out the faces of course), yes please.
Totally awesome.
I belong to a forum (Halloweenforum.com) that is all about Halloween decorating, and if this guy isn't a member, I'd be surprised. There are plenty of amazing home haunters that can do this type of display and make Disney-level effects - and this one is very cool! (I'm not anywhere near that level, but I know sort of the amount of planning, programming and sheer insanity that goes into building a kick-a display like that... nothing but respect and awe here)
And no home haunt would do something like that without checking in with the neighbors and only doing it during earlier hours so as to not be a bother to those around...
I wonder what kind of Halloween candy they give out? ;)
I HATE THAT SONG.
Same house, but I like better when it did This Is Halloween song from Nightmare Before Christmas—http://youtu.be/WAXMtUCcp7o
:-D
Nightmare before Christmas was the best one. Too bad I didn't check this out before I moved, they were really close by!
sydoniah,
Funstraw does not live up to their name!
Ha, g1.
I'm not worthy.. not worthy!
I love it and I might have to up my halloween decor from sad wooden owl and paper bags with candles in them for next year, damn.
There is a family that does stuff like this for Christmas. The entire block is decorated and we all go to see the lights every year. We asked them about it once and they said they only turn the music on at certain times, like when there are huge crowds coming to look. The music plays not very loudly from a speaker that looks like a rock...Rich are people are cool lol.
I'm sure this guy is bound to do something similar. As awesome as it is, I imagine it would have to get old for even the owner if it was going all night long.
Annnddd...yay!! Someone mentioned Halloweenforum!
