Name: Harry (10 months)
Location: New York, NY
Division: Single Room
Room Size: 75 square feet
Tip for Living Small with Kids: Embrace the smallness! At first I thought I thought Harry's room would feel so cramped. But I love that I can reach everything in the room from sitting in the rocking chair. It makes everything so much easier! Also, chose things you love too, not just baby stuff. Harry's rug is one that I would love to have in another room in our next apartment someday.
Biggest Design Challenge in this Room: The size obviously, and the fact that there are no windows. We built this room out of a corner of our apartment, so there are no windows or closets. I chose this pale blue wall color to make it feel airy and the walls kind of disappear. Another challenge was that I was on bedrest for the last half of my pregnancy. So everything had to be ordered online. Luckily when it was time to set it up, everything just fit.
Favorite Thing About This Room: I love the mix of old and new. The Beatrix Potter prints are from my room as a little girl. Also, the green shelves have been with me since college. I also love that since the space is so small there is no room for junk or clutter. It feels relaxing. And of course, I love the walls which my sweet husband painted while I sat on the couch :)
Thanks for your entry Caroline and good luck!

White Enamel Four-P...
Beautiful room for a beautiful boy!
So cute! Fresh, clean, simple, and charming! Where is that rug from?
Love it!! He looks adorable sitting on the chair :) Where did you pick up the clock? (I keep saying I'm done decorating, but can't seem to help myself.. )
What a cute baby!!!! NIce work on the room as well. I just want to ask you how is the changing pad on top of the dresser? is it anchored in any way? I was thinking of getting the same dresser and just putting the pad on top of it but don't know if it slides off while they are in it or not.
Thanks-
I really love your room. Where is the rug from? I have a very similar color of paint on the walls in my nursery and have been struggling to find something that I really like. Thanks, and well done!
I love your Beatrix Potter prints. Tom Kitten is my favorite.
Do y'all use the bed? I'd assume you do, or it wouldn't be there... but still, it sure takes up a lot of space. I, like everyone else, love your Beatrix Potter prints. They're sweet!
Love. Love . Love.
@TexanHolly: Obviously I can’t speak for the poster, but we have a loveseat in our daughter’s small room. It is well worth the valuable square footage. (We use it mainly for bedtime book reading and the occasional rough night).
Another source question. We have the same dresser (doesn't everyone?!?!)
Where did you find the changing pad on top (not the actual pad but the "holder" for lack of a better term)
He is such a doll!
Thanks so much for the nice comments! The rug is from Madeline Weinrib. The clock is George Nelson. I know what you mean about the bed taking up so much space, but we use it all the time! I slept in there many nights when Harry was a newborn, or now if he's not feeling well. And my mom and sister sleep there when they come to visit. The changing table "holder" came from Land of Nod. It came with screws but currently it's not attached to the IKEA chest of drawers, which is actually becoming a problem now that Harry moves around so much.
Thanks again everyone - this made my day!
What an adorable room! Where is the elephant print from?
This is my favorite entry so far. I love everything about it: the color scheme, the total lack of clutter, the serene feeling - everything. The wall color is amazing, and I don't think I'll ever get over the baby blue and white color combo.
I love this room! So adorable! I had the same Beatrix potter prints in my nursery when I was a baby! When my daughter was born I found a small collection on Ebay. They're kind of a odd size so I'm having a hard time finding frames for them.
LOVE! 75 Sq feet, no windows, yet it looks accessible and airy. And as other commenters have noted the design is clean and fresh.
I love this room! So peaceful! I also love that it's pretty gender neutral. I'd love an extra bed in my son's room for guests and nights when either my husband or myself might need to crash there. I can see another child fitting in easily if need be. And very cute baby!:) Nice job.
Love the room. Love the baby.
ditto on the elephant print!! great room.
Love this room! Can you tell me where you got the elephant print? I'm obsessed!
Do you know the paint color? Thanks.
I would love to know the paint color too. It's perfect!
Thanks again everyone! The paint color is Pale Powder from Farrow & Ball. I painted the elephant myself on canvas. I'm not an artist so I just traced a cut out of an elephant I printed off the Internet. One of my random bedrest projects :)
So cute. The blue is so relaxing and i love the poof.
I was wrong about the paint color. It's Farrow&Ball's "Borrowed Light" not "pale powder"
