Housewarming: Have a Stock My Garden Party

Housewarming: Have a Stock My Garden Party

In a couple of weeks, we'll be moving from our cave-like apartment into a light-filled house. Since we already have a home-full of stuff (and aren't really wanting much more), we're thinking of putting a spin on the traditional housewarming party.

In lieu of coasters or pot holders, we're thinking about having a "Stock My Garden" party instead of a traditional housewarming. Ohhhh yeah. Bring on the seedlings, my friends.

It's a little late for us to start a summer garden from seed. But friends and family have already started offering well-off seedlings (some of which are very near producing veggies!) for our backyard garden, albeit the raised beds are not yet built. We're very lucky to have friends who are plant-happy and willing to share.

We love the idea of bringing new meaning to the term "garden party," and look forward to throwing one of these for other friends of ours. What do you think? Will the idea fly? How would you make it work?
