Q: I was hoping that you and/or your readers could help me find this doll! While at the local Children's Museum, my son fell in love with this doll. I asked the employees, but they did not know who made the doll, and there was no label attached to the doll. My son carried it everywhere with him and was crushed to leave it behind. I scoured the internet with no luck. I thought it might be a Waldorf inspired doll, but had no luck there either. I thought I recalled seeing this doll posted up on your site, but had no luck finding it in your archives. Does anyone know who makes this soft velor doll and where I can get one? (see more photos below)

Those photos are precious... I hope the little guy finds his doll soon!

He is adorable. I hope you find him a doll!
Corolle makes a similar shaped doll that my daughter loves: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3557210
Awww he is so cute! Good luck finding the doll!
Looks like you've got some good options! I love his face in the one picture, it's like he's saying, "Don't think I'm going to put this doll down, he's coming with me!" Very sweet!
i was trying to help, but after searching google images i don't think i will be sleeping tonight...

I'd suggest trying the museum again–someone had to purchase the doll and must know where it came from. Call and ask to speak to someone in the Education department.
This is so sweet to see. I keep giving my son dolls and he tries to shove them into his ball popper.
Honeyhaze- that's hilarious!
I second emilyamelie, the museum should be able to help you figure it out. If you don't like anything you find, I bet you could show the picture to someone on etsy and they could make something very close for you. If you figure it out make sure to share the answer, that looks like a perfect doll!
P.S. Your son is adorable!
It looks very similar to some of the Kathe Kruse dolls from Germany. This site has a large selection of them. He might like the Guggli or Sweetheart lines.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! that last link.... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
Hi all- Alissa here:
Thanks to everyone for the links! I was so desperate to get my hands on that doll, I did exactly what emilyamelie suggested... I went back to the Museum and asked and asked and asked until someone not only knew what I was I was talking about, they gave me the doll-maker's business card!
I contacted the doll-maker; Kerstin, and she was WONDERFUL!!! Each doll is hand-made by her, all natural and organic materials, custom embroidery, and she even did a super-rush on the order for us. (You choose the body/cap color, skin color eye and lip color and if you opt for the custom embroidery, you select that color as well... So it truly is a one of a kind doll!)
And the look of joy on my son's face when he saw it was the best! He loves his (bay-be) doll so much that it even goes to bed with him now. I cannot say enough good things about the doll or Kerstin- we are very happy, and I would recommend her dolls in a heartbeat!
Photos of my guy in love with his doll, and of some of Kirsten's dolls that are at the Museum can be found here:

Glad you were able to find the person and that they were really helpful!
This is why I could never be a parent. Watching the little man with his new friend, I would have been arrested for shoplifting on the first visit.
Might I ask, how much are the dolls? I think both of my girls would love one of those.
@ patrick (the other one)- trust me that thought runs through the Mama brain every single time. And then that same brain thinks how can I tell my kid to not steal if I had... So you go nuts-crazy looking for a d-o-l-l... (If I had been told just two years ago I would be this obsessed over a doll, I would have thought the world had lost it's marbles... Turns out it was me :)
@mnm_mom: I have a feeling that depending on what you wanted, ie, custom embroidery, rush to be made, etc. the dolls would vary a bit in price. They run about $75. When I was looking on etsy, this price fit in with what I was seeing for many of the similar dolls, and in some cases, it was quite a bit less... (And I can vouch for the quality of the doll after seeing the Museum dolls and now having one of our own.)
I am soooo glad you persevered.
.....PRICELESS
The roundness of the doll reminds me of teletubbies :) I want a doll for myself...
