Many of us would rather go for a clean, slick, necessity-only kitchen; others opt for the visual feast of paintings, photos, and prints adorning the walls. For a few inspirational suggestions, we found five (of many) approaches:
• 1. Vintage group photos via Country Living
• 2. Classic kitchen prints from Casa Sugar
• 3. A series of vintage wood paintings in Amy's Chicago Kitchen
• 4. Denenge has a colorful collection of drawings, paintings, and photos of varying styles and sizes
• 5. Photo booth strips are popular on fridges, but frame and hang as artwork for a personalized focal point like Katie and Toby did in their kitchen.

bah, I'm having this problem right now... So far I only have my vintage Frosted Flakes ad and a painting I did of Gir, from Invader Zim, eating waffles. I can't find a spot for them though :/
Photo no. 1 looks wildly impractical (grease alert!) but the others look fine.
I love #2!!
The green one though.....too much going on for me
I agree with mirandabee about #1. Anyone who does a lot of cooking could never place framed images behind the cooktop like that. In my house, it would be always be covered in stir-fry grease and curry splatter.
I love displayed art in the kitchen, but I think cohesiveness is important... The green kitchen is a little too overwhelming for my tastes, and #1 is impractical (if visually pleasing). The theme and flow of the photographs in #1 are my favorite--I'd just have to find someplace less greasy to hang them.
I took 8 x 10 black and whites of my parents, in laws, grandparents, from way back when, kind of like the first photo, only not quite so old, and I put them up high to avoid getting them greasy. It turned out cool.
#1 looks good, but no way - i agree grease would definitely be a problem. i love #2 though...looks very glossy, integrated well with the space and high enough to avoid most of the mess. mostly i love long, sleek lines... :)
