As I look for apartments in a new city, I have found myself in quite the predicament. My heart constantly gets in the way of rational thinking. My desires for an adorable neighborhood or that once-in-a-lifetime view always tug at my heartstrings, completely blocking my mind from important factors like… price.
My apartment search has me looking in multiple cities. My romanticized view of New York City has often blocked my rational thinking from choosing a less-expensive city. I dream of my extravagant lifestyle in an exciting new city and forget to take a step back and look at reality. This search has got me considering important questions about where we make a "home".
How important should your level of happiness and love for a city influence a moving choice? For example, we all love Italy but few of us actually move there. Should I become more rational and choose a more realistic city?
Which do you side with when searching for a new apartment? Head or heart?
