These vases are a lot like the ones you'll find in a thrift store, mom's basement, or grandma's china cabinet. Except for one thing: their heavy metal logos...
Pierre Blanc has painted rock band logos onto these traditional vessels, making for an unexpected - if not downright absurd - juxtaposition.
We get quite a kick out of seeing the Metallica logo framed by cherubs and faux gilding, but maybe that's just us... What do you think? Via Today and Tomorrow.

I saw this before and thought it was hilarious!
Ridiculous and ugly
Tack-ay!
I wonder if Cher would have a more medieval style made under license?
Would probably fit right in next to your favorite sports team themed recliner and mirrored side table.
Hideous.
Oh, oh oh and a racecar bed?
This is where garbage comes from!
Yuk.
I kind of enjoyed laughing at these and mocking them!
no and no.
Tacky but hilarious.
To all those who make the relevant remark that these are ugly (in case no one would have noticed), it might be worth thinking that maybe that was the very point?
Doesn't anyone have any humour anymore?
I think Lars Ulrich is gonna sic his copyright lawyers on this guy.
Hilarious and brilliant.
fabulous!!!!
i'm going to make my own... maybe with new kids on the block logos...
Is it april fool's day already? cause that has to be a joke!
I must confess enjoying the irony. Especially on the Misfits one.
I think it's hysterical. Not for everyone, but in the right room this would be a great conversation piece!
Trademark violations!!! Woohoo!
AND there is NOTHING creative about these. They've just taken trademarked logos and slapped them on old vases. Big whoop.
AND...AND...Yuck.
Wow.. People need to lighten up and enjoy the hilarity of the idea. Being a hard-rock (wouldn't call them Heavy Metal) fan, and holding ac/dc in particular close to my heart, I gotta say that these are hilarious! While I don't think I would actually have one, I could probably convince the boyfriend, who loves ac/dc and tacky things. Hmm..
Oooo, an NKOTB would be great, along with New Edition, Boyz 2 Men, N'Sync and BSB, and Take That and Boyzone thrown in for good measure!! (and maybe Bros and Big Fun thrown in for us children of the 80s!).
I think this falls into the "just because you can, doesn't mean you should" category. The idea actually isn't bad, but, er, execution fail.
The best part is that some are being sold for over $600....eek!

These aren't for me. They have got me thinking though: Maybe I should get a few of Granny's old vases, slap some bumper stickers on them, and sell them for a few hundred dollars!
yuck.
Hipster irony is getting old and tiresome.
Gene Simmons will definitely sue for unauthorized use of a KISS logo. This is a guy who had lawyers shut down all of his fan's sites for using the logo.
These are also pretty hideous-looking. It's not necessarily because of the logos, but because of the way they are printed on top of designs of a jarringly different style than the logos themselves. It looks like the vases have been defaced rather than designed.
I'm with whoever wants to trick people into buying more stuff like this. I have some rub-on Michael Jackson and E.T. decals we can slap on some Lladros if you want to.
Oh, those are hideous... and I say that as someone who is fond of rock, and even more fond of irony.
But kudos for them that they figured out a way to market them for so much, especially in this economy- I thought this was going to be an Etsy offering for under $30, KWIM? Well, you know what they say about fools and money... I guess that makes it easy.
