We have a weakness for hand-me-downs with a history. When our grandparents did a major purge a while back, we stuffed our suitcases with their rejected silverware, throw rugs and leather driving gloves. We're so hooked we even smuggled home a few goodies in our suitcase on our way back from a recent family visit in Germany.
And though it may seem a wee bit tactless to be putting our name on the lamp from Egypt while our brother eyes the chairs from Mexico, our grandparents seem to beam a little bit brighter to hear that these bits from their history will be loved and used when they're *ahem* done with them.
That's why we'd like to take a moment to show off some of the heirlooms that already grace our home (thanks Grammy and Papa!). We'll be sure to "use them in good health."
