- What I Love About My Small Home:
- Even though the apartment is really tiny we love the cozy atmosphere and the colours. The windows are great and there is lots of light in the daytime. We love how the bed is the center of the room even though it's hidden behind the dressers. We love the desk and the little dining corner. We also like the fact that the rent is affordable even though it's so close to Copenhagen.
- Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space
- Finding space for two people and all our things. We have boxes in the corners and under the bed. We also found it difficult to make room for both a sleeping area, a dining area and a study space in this tiny 300 square feet apartment. But the dressers work perfectly as dividers, and they are handy too because of the extra storage space inside.

THIS is small! And realy, it looks like a home. Good job!
its so cosy and warm flat...love it !! good luck about the contest...
This is a wonderful place! Very attractive, and the space is very well used. All the areas work together well.
I find your space very soothing in it's simplicity.
Great space planning for a very tiny footprint. But are you sure this is 300 sq ft Helene? Just eyeballing the photos and plan, it looks to me to be more like 200 sq ft - at most!
Whoa. There are TWO people living in this space? Two people who are very good at de-cluttering!
Yeah it looks a bit smaller to me too. Our flat is 235 sq ft and it looks bigger that this. Either way it's very cosy and I'm in the same position, smaller space closer to the city rather than being far away. It looks like you really made the compromise work. Well done.
I think I have lived in bigger dorm rooms! But it is SO cozy. It makes me want to SIGNIFICANTLY par down my stuff (even though I just did!) and live in such a tiny space!
Beautiful, and an admirable use of space. I like that you made room for a desk and dining table instead of putting in a regular lounge area. Those would have been my priorities too. Great job!
Thank you very much for all your nice comments :)
@leilanitexas: It's 300 sq ft on paper. But I guess the staircase takes some sq ft too. But yep, it's really small...
@melissapauline: Yes, my boyfriend does live here too, but he doesn't have that many things. The wardrobe is in the hallway next to the bathroom, which gives extra space in the living room/bedroom/kitchen :)
I did declutter a bit before the pictures were taken, but I think we are pretty good at keeping it all clean and simple.
Nice to see how you've tried to make it so homey
Okay, so Rock Me Birdie is my screen name. Sorry for any confusion!

I really like how you have split the bed off, I was planning on doing that myself.
Do you also use your bed as a sofa?
Wow. The layout of this bachelor is identical to one I lived in years ago, and I did the same thing with the bookcase separating the sleeping area from the rest of the space. Awesome.
Very Nice ! Even I was surprised at 300 sq ft - because others have larger spaces in 300 sq ft. Just a thought, can't the desk do double duty as dining table ?
Ya I think this is closer to 200 sq ft as well. Where are the stairs? Regardless, you have done well with the space!
Fantastic space planning!
@LITTLE-IDEAL: We do use the sofa as kind of a sofa. We sit in it when we watch telly and so on.
@SRIVI: I used the desk as a dinner table before buying the smaller table. So yep, we can definitely use the desk as a dinner table :)
@CASEYINTO: The staircase is outside the apartment in the apartment building. The living room is about 13 ft x 9 ft.

Your apartment brought back happy memories of my teenage son who caught the design bug for a while. One of his bedroom designs looked very similar to yours with the IKEA Malm dresser separating the bed from the rest of the room. He glued round corkboards (also from IKEA) to the back and pinned up pictures, etc.
i am stunned and impressed.
This is amazing. Such a tiny space, but it actually looks comfortably live-able. Nice job!
I love the idea of the drawer units as space dividers - very clever!
Well planned space! I love that the sleeping space doesn't necessarily look like a bed.
Very cute. Do you have a shower in that bathroom?
