Certain hobbies are not destined to naturally cross paths with each other, but it seems if you wait around long enough, all paths meet at some point. These faithful recreations of British birds done entirely in LEGO blocks are a perfect case in point. When a love of birds is combined with some serious LEGO skills, the results will make you look at LEGOs, and possibly birds, in a whole new way.
Thomas Poulsom loves birds and loves LEGOs, and his passion for both is clearly evident in these incredible creations. They look almost lifelike in a very cool automaton sort of way, like there might be cogs and flywheels inside their little plastic bodies.

A particularly intriguing aspect of this project is that Thomas has applied for the birds to become official LEGO kits in their own right, a process which you can help make happen. Head over to the LEGO Cuusoo site, which acts somewhat like an incubator for new ideas, and click the 'Support' button. Projects that receive 10,000 supporters will get an official review by LEGO. I for one think a few birds among the millions of robots, spaceships and temples of doom would be a welcome breath of fresh air.

Z2 iPod Dock and Wi...
If these get an official review, they might have a better chance of making it to production given that they don't violate any copyrights, trademarks, etc. I'd make one and it could ride the giant LEGO AT-AT.
That's great!
I don't mean to sound like a fangirl but both LEGO is both singular and plural. Also, what a wonderful way to meld two passions together... I will be voting for Thomas and his amazing designs!
Sorry about the typo!
