Instant gratification. We like to think of the AT Art Auction as a form of it. We're very excited about the beautiful pieces you'll be seeing over the next three weeks, one every other day or so. The artists who have contributed to this auction are an amazing lot: large-hearted, talented, and great to work with. Each has one piece in the auction. We're posting the pieces one at a time, and each auction will be open for approximately 48 hours. What this means is that you can't comparison shop. You have to listen to your gut. Does it speak to you? Yes. Do you feel good about the cause? Yes. Bingo. Bid! Within two days you'll know if it was meant to be yours. Below the jump, info about our cause, Drawbridge, and how they benefit. Drawbridge is a local non-profit that specializes in two things that are very topical around here: homelessness and art. Founded in 1991 by art therapist Gloria Simoneaux, Drawbridge runs arts programs for kids living in the Bay Area's emergency facilities, giving them the tools of creative expression to help them survive incredibly difficult circumstances. Drawbridge's quarters were recently gutted by a fire, and they need all the help they can get to keep their programs going. Minus fees that will be paid to eBay and to UPS or USPS for shipping the art to the winners, the entire amount of the winning bids will go to support Drawbridge. We hope this sweetens the bidding for you!
