Q: This curbside find is the size of an end table but has a curved shelf attached to a little swinging panel in the "drawer" space at the top and bottom. The side of the top shelf is now duct tape but I imagine it was originally wood, like the side of the bottom shelf. The top shelf also has a felt lining, which the bottom shelf doesn't.

I suspect it was a "mini bar" circa 1940. I wish I'd found it.
My parents have a similar table that is a sewing table - the part that swings open has a row of wooden pegs for spools. Maybe this is something similar?
I don't know but my childhood friend Michelle Davis had one when we were in elementary school in the 70s. I was so jealous, thought it was really cool.
