Q: I wondered if anyone could help me find more information on a mid century modern coffee table I bought off Craigslist. I haven't seen anything quite like it.

I inherited the matching side table from my grandparents. It's exciting to see the coffee table, I haven't seen anything like it before! I just checked to see if mine is marked, unfortunately it isn't. The is a hand-written inspection label, mark 3/10/59. I don't know if that helps!
Awww...please reunite these pieces!!
From the way the top was constructed and the sqaured off and rounded corner shape of the legs, I'd say it's American. It doesn't look like a Glenn piece... either a Lane or Henredon?
There's an inspection sticker on mine, too, dated 7/58. I would love to see a pic of the side table if possible.
I'll try narrowing my search to American Mid Century manufactors and see if I can find it.
Its a lane piece. They made a few versions of this, a longer coffee table, side tables, etc.
I got a side table version as a gift years ago, it had the original Macy's price tag on it, which has since fallen off. :(
wow you guys are on it! I'm going to have to post my dining set to see if someone can identify it.
btw Ginni whoever made that table - it's fabulous!! what a find!
My guess would also be Lane, except didn't Lane always emblazon their logo and hometown (Altavista, Virginia) onto their furniture?
They did and it really should be branded somewhere on the table unless it was sanded off somehow. This could also be a knockoff but I somehow doubt it because it looks pretty legit :]
Just stumbled upon this! John Keal for Brown Saltman coffee table:
