Q: I bought a yard of remnant upholstery fabric at a store in Manhattan after taking advice from the responses in my previous Good Question. I love the fabric and want to buy more, but so far, they haven't been able to identify the designer or let me know if I can order additional yardage. Can anyone identify this fairly heavy, upholstery-weight fabric? It might be chenille but it's slightly rough to the touch on the underside and the fabric itself is natural/ecru with silver reptile screen print.

Really? This thing has been up al day and all that has responded to it were two spammers?
I don't think it's a particularly identifiable fabric. There are countless animal prints that come out every season. If you got it in the remnant section it is probably from at least a couple seasons ago. That means they are most likely not producing it anymore. Upholstery fabrics are a lot like the fashion industry, the lifespan of a particular print is fairly short. Things like this can come and go in a single season. Sorry but you probably won't see this again. Maybe something similar but most likely not this.
I went through the same thing when I needed enough yardage for curtains and decided to use overstock and discount fabric to save money. My only advice is to limit yourself to fabrics that have sufficient yardage in stock. I found lots of things I loved, but ultimately very few things I loved that had the large yardage. Also, keep in mind that there can be a color shift from one bolt of fabric to another. So even if you find the exact same fabric somewhere, it may not match perfectly. You don't say how much fabric you need, but there are plenty of places that sell discounted overstock and large remnants. Try eBay or modern-fabrics.com (spelled with the hyphen).
Also, I find it helps if you know exactly what you are looking for. The best way to do that is to go to the trade only showrooms, look at what they have, and then search for those fabrics specifically. That is how I found the $200/yd Pollack mohair velvet that I used to upholster my bed for $30/yd on eBay. I used a service called LAdesignconcepts.com which can provide access to trade only fabric showrooms and allow you to purchase from them at a discount.
It looks like it could be a fabric from Designers Guild, they have a collection called Monteverdi.
by googling for silver reptile print fabric I've found some non-upholstery stretchy variants:

and metallic snake skin vinyl

That is Joanne Fabric pattern "Galliano", color 93j4941.
The rough underside sounds like it could be treated for stability and stain resistance, so maybe the top IS chenille.
I'm boggled that robinacraftmoney knows the product number! This site is amazing!
Thanks for your helpful comments everyone! I will definitely check out robinacraftmoney's Joanne Fabric suggestion. Sophie.T, the Designers Guild fabric is very similar and I like it, too - thanks for the lead!
