I'm moving into a new apartment in a couple of weeks and I'm at a loss on how to set up my living room furniture. I hope the readers of Apartment Therapy can help!
The living room is 19' x 14' (pretty good size, in my opinion, having recently moved to LA from NYC!). The problem is that I can't seem to decide on an arrangement. The main pieces of furniture that will be in the room are the TV/stand, sofa, and 2 chairs (one with an ottoman). The room is unique in that there are almost no walls - one side of the room is the sliding glass door to the patio, the opposite side has an opening to the bedrooms, heating unit. Another wall has the front door and a closet, and the wall opposite to that opens into the dining area.
Right now I'm leaning towards cutting the room in half with the sofa facing the wall that leads to the bedrooms, putting the TV/stand on the perpendicular wall, and setting up the 2 chairs behind the sofa to create a reading area in front of the glass door.
I'd love to hear suggestions from the AT readers!
