Names: Henry (5) & Lucas (20 months)
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Division: Shared Room
Room Size: 83 square feet
Tip for Living Small with Kids: Don't sweat it! My husband and I worried that the two boys wouldn't have enough room to play once we found room for all their things, but I am constantly inspired by their ability to use every inch of available space for their wild adventures.
Biggest Design Challenge in this Room: Our biggest challenge with this room has been the lack of a closet. Our son Henry is a serious clothes-horse, and finding room for his expanding collection of cowboy boots, suspenders, and button-down shirts - not to mention his little brother's things - is a constant struggle.
Favorite Thing About This Room: My favorite thing about this room is the color. Committing to a paint was hard, but I've been really happy with it and amazed that something so lively could act like a neutral when paired with all the bright colors of their toys.
Thanks for your entry Regan and good luck!

You mentioned loving the paint color in this room... what color is it? Dying to know... thx!
Finally, a room that actually looks like a kid LIVES here! It's got lots of style and I love that the bookshelf isn't perfectly staged for once. Great room.
Dying to know the color too -- please post! Love the room.
wonderful real kids' room!
Love the room! Where did you get the safety poster with the Chinese characters?
I really like this room. I love the paint color, the giraffe, and the dresser, especially like them together. This has to be one of my favorite rooms because it looks so real! I have a 2 year old boy myself. We too have a fan (I think it might be the same one!) on the dresser, and I like the touch of the upside-down owl pillow--or wait, are those bats?
This is messy in a good way. Doesn't look pretentious.
Ummm??? Are we being held in suspense for a reason?? Share the wall color please!!!!
Sorry for the delay! The paint color is Benjamin Moore's Palladian Blue. And thanks for the generous comments - as many of you noted staging is not my forte.
