Back in April we highlighted Jim and Kari's kids' backyard stage, as one of our favorite parts of their Evanston house tour. Their son's room is also a lesson is stylish restraint for kids. It's simple and playful, including the following details, close up:
- vintage Kunstlerschutz Wagner animals
- Pottery Barn Kids planet mobile
- IKEA pendant and bed
- bedding: Trees by Boodalee
- paint color: Hearts of Palm by Sherwin Williams
- FLOR tiles in Morning Coffee, Pet Hair, and Stripes
- Hybrid Home Monsters artwork via Velocity Art and Design

This is a fabulous room. I love balance of the clean modern lines and the vintage charm; it's not sterile or overlyfussy. I also love that it's a boy's room that does not shout "I am a BOY room!" The room is calming and uncluttered but welcoming and comfortable. While embracing great design, it clearly looks lived in (and loved).
P.S. Envy the puzzle stacker immensely!
I also love that puzzle stacker!
And the room!
I love the puzzle stacker also. I wonder if that's what it was originally...if not, what was it? I also adore the vintage animals, I have several of those deer for a Christmas display.
The puzzle stacker is available through educational supply stores like Lakeshore Learning.
I love a boy room that's happy and cheerful--well done!
Great room - love all the books, the cool chair, and especially the planet mobile (on my list for my son.) We have the same fire truck (I don't like it but my son begged his dad for it and loves it) and similar digger. :-)
does anyone one know the name of the blue IKEA chair?
Wonderful room!
And yes, that puzzle stacker -- need it.
