In the never-ending debate over what's more ergonomic, working standing up or sitting down, Herman Miller comes out with the ultimate solution -- a desk that can do both. Part of their Thrive series, the desk is designed to be able to adjust heights with a simple push of a button.
DesignMilk gave a sneak peak of the new desk, currently on display at NeoCon in Chicago.
We couldn't find much information via Herman Miller's site, but it looks like its a modification of the Envelop desk, with adjustable legs that easily lift or lower the tabletop depending on how you'd like to work. You can see a wee bit more on the desk via a video Herman Miller has released about the new line.

I want one!
What's the cheap version of this?
How is this new? We've had desks that adjust to standing where I work for the 7 years I've been here, and they weren't new when I started.
When we moved to a new building we got L-shaped desks w/upper cabinets that also move, so if you want to stand up, your whole cubicle basicaly goes with you, walls and all. Much cooler than it sounds (:
I will say, they are awesome and I would have one at home if I could find one a little more decor/space friendly.
I concur that this isn't a new idea--every lecture room at my university has a desk for the professor that can be height-adjusted with a hand crank.
