U.S. furniture manufacturer Herman Miller recently launched a micro-site featuring inspirational videos in which their team of designers discuss how they approach their work. As part of our month-long celebration of design, this is a compelling look into the hearts and minds of contemporary designers.
According to the Why Design site:
Design is the language we use to ask questions and seek answers to the problems our customers face. The design process is a journey into the unknown...Before we decide what we do and how we do it, we like to begin by asking the question "Why?"
As someone who loves Herman Miller and also really digs listening to passionate people discuss their craft, I'm excited to check out these videos, which come out every Monday. This week's video features designer Yves Behar, who likens surfing to jazz and ties it back to design. Very cool stuff.
