Hettich International's "Lite Inside" LED Closet Rails

We're sure you could DIY something like this using some string LED lights and a hollowed out metal or wood rod, but when it comes to electrical in the closet, we lean toward manufactured and UL tested solutions to decrease the chance of fire hazards. But we're really liking this idea of integrating lighting directly into the closet's rod system. We have a walk-in closet that goes deep and far back into an abyss which requires a spelunker's lighting gear, so the idea of a low-energy lighting source to illuminate our way to a proper outfit seems like something many of us would benefit from each early morn (or late evening, you party animals)...

The wireless rail system automatically "turns on" when a door is opened, and conveniently does the opposite when you close your closet. As you can see from the source link below, currently this "Lite inside" lighted closet rail system from Hettich International is marked as a luxury item. But how long before the likes of IKEA and Target catch on? We can't wait.
