Hexagons and Honeycombs

Geometry and shapes have been a big trend in the home and fashion design worlds for awhile now, with triangles being most prevalent. But I can't help but notice all the hexagon shapes that have been popping up lately; are they poised to topple triangle's reign?

I really love the idea of honeycomb shapes in the home; they're a subtle natural motif that is such a dynamic element. I like them as a pattern on textiles, but I also love when furniture pieces feature or are in the shape of a hexagon; it's an unexpected element that can add a lot of interest in an interior (or exterior!) space. Here are some new and old honeycomb and hexagon shapes we've spotted:

Top Row:
1) Atom Silver on Blue Linen Pillow Cover $50
2) Pair of 70s Geometric Orange and Brown String Art $40
3) Tetrahedral Molecules Painting on Recycled/Vintage Wood $12
4) A2 Hexagon/Coffee Table
5) Tom Dixon's Step Rug

Bottom Row:
6) West Elm Aluminum Hexagon Side Table $150
7) West Elm Honeycomb Napkins set of 4 $12
8) Whisper Mobile Azurite Blue Cubes $160
9) Incorporated NY Hex Table
10) Wood Honeycomb Candle Holders set of 6 $68
