I am an enthusiastic lover of type (well, there are exceptions...sorry Comic Sans and Papyrus). And when beautiful type is then translated into even more gorgeous letterpress prints, well, sign me up! Jessica Hische, of this fabulous apartment and the Daily Drop Cap, has finally released a selection of her alphabet prints to delight our walls.

Jessica Hische's amazing lettering skills, involving equal parts design, typography and illustration (as well as brown sugar and heavy cream according to Jason of Heads of State), has been lusted after by type fans for the past few years.
Now that some of her individual drop caps (one for each letter of the alphabet plus an ampersand!) are now letterpressed on Crane's 110lb Lettra paper in limited editions of 75, we can show are appreciation of her skills in a frame rather than a computer screen.
Jessica's letterpressed letters are available for purchase here for $40 per 8 x 8 inch print.

Should I be embarrassed to admit that Comic Sans is my favorite?
I am actually quite fond of Papyrus.
I loath Comic Sans and it drives be absolutely crazy when professionals use it (one of the physicians with whom I work constantly uses the font in professional documents). I thought my strong feels regarding font were unusual until I watched (repeatedly, and now own!) "Helvetica". It's a font nerd's dream....
I hate, hate, hate Papyrus. When I see it on business cards or signs I shudder.
Love Papyrus, but hate to see it misused. Anyway these letters are absolutely beautiful.
That's awesome! I use her drop caps on my blog posts, and have gotten a lot of compliments on them. Wouldn't mind seeing them around the house, too. (I'm a type nerd)

I love Comic Sans.
Use Comic Sans a lot for signs for Teen events at my Library. LOVE Papyrus for my "artist" business cards! (I had no idea it was so controversial -- how'd that happen??)
Every font has it's uses...

Dan Gilbert hates you.
Love this! Love that so many people are passionate about typeface!
Noticed a typo:...last sentence reads: "we can show are appreciation..." Should read "our".
Very exciting! I'm a big fan.
oh these are gorgeous! the ampersand is so lovely. I wish I could blow it up real big and hang it on my wall!
