If you've got a few hours to spare, and you're in the market for home goods or DIY materials (and come on, aren't we all?), there are some bargains to be had in Ravenswood today. Having just wrapped a Chicago-based show, HGTV is hosting a flash "garage sale" at their production offices today, and their filming leftovers could be your thrifty gain. Available items include new and vintage furniture, accessories, rugs, bulk tile, fabric, fixtures, building materials and more.
The sale, which will take place between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., is located at 4410 N. Ravenswood Avenue, and shoppers should enter in the back of the building at the loading dock.
You must be able to take all items with you immediately, and they will be accepting cash only, with the request that you bring small bills, since the ability to make change will be limited. Please note that this event will not be filmed.

Holy disappointment, Batman! I was 4th in line, and there were no great finds. They literally had used rubbermaid bins, a cooler, and sample-sized swatches of fabric and flooring. A few rolls of fabric for the DIY'er. Spent 4 minutes looking thru everything.
