Have you seen the new HGTV magazine? I picked it up the other day and loved seeing all the HGTV designers in another format and even taking a behind the scenes look into their personal homes.
One of my favorite features is the High/Low List. They show a home decor item and a very similar inexpensive alternative. It reminds me a lot of Lucky Magazine, but for interiors. They come pretty close to finding an almost identical piece.
Another cool feature in their magazine is the cost of living comparison for two different cities. Living in Los Angeles, I don't always like to acknowledge the fact that I could get so much more for my money elsewhere. However, I am still always curious what the real estate market is like in different parts of the country.

I picked up a copy of this the other day and was pretty disappointed in it ... basically it's as vapid and lacking in substance as the majority of their programming these days. It's not something I would subscribe to nor is it something I would buy on a regular basis.
i'll have to take another look and get back to you. i picked it up as soon as it came out and, while there were a few useful articles (the refrigerator cleaning), overall i didn't feel so impressed as with, say, the first issue of domino.
Some useful tips, yes, but felt almost more like a catalog.
I thought the magazine lacked interest and detail. I could see so many ways that it could have been better. It was very disappointing!
Me five. :( I saw a commercial to get a free issue, so I logged on to get said free issue and was sent a bill before the free issue. Got the free issue way after it hit the stands and it's worth what I paid for it.
"In Style Magazine: Home Edition" is more like it. Liked Sarah Richardson's house though.
And PS, how many "Don't like your couch?!? Change out the throw pillows! You can do them in different colors!" articles does one magazine need?
