Does the DIY on come with the cute dog and great arc lamp? Because, then yes I will DIY.
I think I am coming off the tufted headboard want. I still like the look of the very high semi winged headboard need to give myself another six months on that too.
My friend just got this one and it looks great, some tufting but the high back is appealing-

I still really want an upholstered headboard, though I'm on the fence about tufting. I just want something tall enough so that I can sit up to read in bed and not have my head hit the wall behind my pillows. By the time I get around to getting/making one, they will probably be totally out of style.
The DIY one just looks sad... ~:o(
The Seville Tufted headboard from Target is fantastic and fairly well priced.
I don't think the DIY one (8) looks that much worse than 6.
I just made an upholstered headboard (no tufting) that I mounted to the wall this weekend using materials from the as is section at Ikea and some fabric. It was surprisingly easy and fun to boot! I think we only spent $11 on wood, $8 on batting (sale) and got fabric for $3.99/yard.
Wow really @ quiltmaster? I want to see you do better. It was my first time upholstering or tufting anything.
