Ever since we've seen the lovely flowered chandelier in Beatrix's nursery, we've been on the lookout for a great green and yellow chandelier for our niece's bedroom. It's such a lovely and fresh interpretation of a classic piece. Of course, we balked when we saw many of the prices for the chandeliers...

Why not just buy a plain one and add your own flowers to it? Probably a heck of a lot cheaper and the same effect.
Anyone have any other good sources for these types of chandeliers? I'm thinking of using one in my daughter's room and have been looking at both new and antique versions. My concern with an antique fixture would be re-wiring it and paint chipping; however some of the new fixtures seem too simple.
Flea markets, garage sales and thrift shops are filled with these flower fixtures. If the colors are not right for you,protect the other parts with blue tape, and spray paint the flowers A fresh coat of paint on the arms as well and you have a new fixture for very little money. I have done this for several clients.
greatchandeliers.com is an awesome source. they have a solid white wrought iron chandelier with white flowers on it, which could easily be painted to add the green and yellow accents. also there's an identical one featuring pink and green accents. bonus, they're only $99 dollars. i ordered a larger version for my sister's dining room and was really impressed with the quality and price.
