With summer season just around the corner and we prepare to do some major outdoor living, it seems like many of us are in search of the perfect summer chaise.
Here we have the Silver Collection Chaise, available at DWR. With four adjustments, great lines and made of beautiful teak, the Silver Collection Chaise is swoon-worthy, but at $2100 it's a bit out of our reach.
The Ikea Kvarno chaise, with an adjustable head and foot section, made with solid acacia, seems more reachable at only $150.
Two lovely chairs, two options for the summer.

Shaw's Original Fir...
there should definitely be more 'high and low' posts on a.t.!
agreed - I like the high/low posts. and, hopefully too many monocles won't hit the floor as people gasp when I say I prefer the Ikea version.
Why pay more? The IKEA version looks great. And for that price you can afford the swimming pool to go with it. Well, at least the deposit on one! :)
Excellent post - I love this concept. More, please!
I like the IKEA one better as well. Plus, bonus, when the IKEA one is flattened out, it is really flat. Not curved. Which means it can serve as a bench for many as well as a lounge for one.
"Can also be used as a bench when the head section is turned down."
And it's head section adjusts to four positions too:
"Both head and foot section is adjustable for an extra comfortable lying posture.
Head section is adjustable to 4 positions; adjust according to need."
Why they decided to curve the KVARNO bench, is beyond me:

I would have gravitated towards that as seating or as plant shelving or as a long table. That curve isn't going to work for two of the three. Drat!
We really liked the Kvarno Chaises we saw online in IKEA. However, we had to get creative in acquiring them, as we do not have an IKEA where we live. We contacted a friend in Connecticut, and she went to the IKEA, purchased two KVarno Chaises for us, and shipped the boxes to us with our shipping labels. Unfortunately, when we got the boxes; according to IKEA, each chaise would come complete in each box, we received ONLY the top of the chair, NO LEGS for either chair, and only one set of wheels, oh yeah, and NO HARDWARE. Well, what are we going to need hardware for anyway? THEREâs NO LEGS!
Weâve attempted to resolve this with IKEA, and because our friend paid cash and neglected to save the receipt, theyâre okay with the fact that they sold us a VERY INCOMPLETE purchase of TWO CHAIRS for FULL PRICE. Yet, they are the sole source for this chair, so we cannot get the needed parts anywhere else.
So, our advice is, donât buy these, and donât buy anything from IKEA until you rip open every box and check the contents . . . .
Seems to be a total rip off, and total lack of conscious customer service.
