Lately I'm digging this sectional from West Elm, but in a different configuration than shown on the main page...I like it ivory but know I'd spill on it!

i have the kramfors one from ikea in a dark brown- it's GREAT.

Instead of the sectional, we bought two Kramfors sofas from IKEA.

I have to Walton Sectional from West Elm. It's holding up wonderfully, spills are miraculously easy to clean, and the pillows make it really cozy while the back and sides and height look nice and modern.

I've been looking at the Kramfors and Karlstad sofas for a while and wondered how comfortable they were. I'm glad to hear that people really seem to like Kramfors since I love it in the dark turquoise color.

I'm also really liking the Gus Modern Carter. It's not an outrageous price.

That last one, though...ick.

i'm going to buy the kramfors very soon...although the fabric type worries me since i have catz. their karlstad does come in better fabrics for kitty claws, however it doesn't feel as sturdy as the kramfors...

any opinions on that out there?

kdkaboom: trim your cat's claws short and keep scratching pads/posts/etc. near the sofa to train them to scratch those instead of your furniture. My cat has claws and haven't had any issues with any of my furniture as long as I keep them trimmed short and correct her if she tries to claw the arms.

thanks for your suggestions! i'm definitely going to need to get the claw-cutting-lady here more often. my cats WHIG OUT when we try to clip them, so i had to hire someone...basically, my fat cat requires four people holding him down. i am not kidding, either. it's traumatic for the dumbnut.

basically, i've also resigned myself to having my FIRST EVER sofa be torn the frick up...and that's just that, yaknow? that's why i'm going with IKEA. i don't feel soo bad. plus, i can always buy new covers for a few hundred bucks.

The Carter Sectional from Gus Modern was just on sale for 20% off making it very affordable. I got one! I can't wait for it to arrive. Most sites have free shipping and you avoid tax. If interested, wait until the next sale, could really be worth it.

Ikea sofas are made out of particle board, which will wear out and break down exponentially faster than a hardwood frame will. It's a shame, since some of their designs are quite lovely. But I would stay away - especially since they get to be almost as expensive as sturdier made sofas/sectionals.

Personally I got a Neo sofa from DWR (thank you floor sale). I love it - its SO comfortable! If I had the room I would have gone for the sectional - but I live in a tiny little space and only the two seater would fit.

The Carter Sofa is great, especially in the Urbantweed Potash fabric. You can't really tell from the swatches online, but if you see it in store it looks amazing!

During the 20% sale I ordered the Gus Modern carter sofa in urban tweed banff. I can't wiat until it arrives!

The Gus Modern is soooo beautiful! I could even see it meshing well with my more traditional interior.

I had the carter sectional from GUS-it looks better online than in person-still costly for Chinese made upholstery

I have the Gus Modern sectional in Totem Storm. I get so many compliments on it, plus it is very comfortable.

The Gus Modern is amazingly beautiful, too bad it's a couple thousand out of my price range...

Seems the higher the price, the less appealing the sofa.

I'm so happy to see the Gus Modern sectional on here along with some positive feedback on it- I've been swooning over it for some time now and reallllly want it when we move into our house.

The Santa Barbara looks SO comfy but is waaay out of my price range!

Hi everyone, my first post.

I have been doing a lot of research, and actually found a lot of good information on some old threads here, but they where from a couple of years ago. So I'm hoping maybe some one knows from the top of their head.

I'm looking for leather sectionals, however, I'm not looking to spend too much money, nor do I need "Italian" or the finest leather, pretty much any thing should work, as long as the look is great. Don't care for comfort either, just as long as it's leather.

From researching online, so far I have stendmar.com to have the best prices with the best looks, however, someone left a review online saying that they may not be "real" leather, either pleather, or some synthetic material.

Any information would be helpful.

I just bought the Gus Modern Jane Sectional which is similar to the carter sofa a few days ago, and used a small amount of water on a Napkin to get out a small piece of food I dropped on it. Only swiped a few times, the stain came out great, I came back in the morning the next day to see if the stain actually was out after it dried, but the fabric design was smudged; the greys smudged in to the white, and now looks like a bad stain. I'm going through the furniture store to either get my refund or get the couch in a different fabric. The fabric was the light grey Lato Ash. Can't believe water can ruin their couches. Rediculous! Buyer beware.

If I'm reading the website correctly, the Laura Lounge as shown in the photo is two pieces at $2100 each - so $4200 as shown. Plus the minimum order is four pieces - $8400. It seems to be intended more for commercial use. I think it's pretty cool though - two-way furniture is hard to find.
