I love rocks. Not the shiny ones you wear on your finger, but minerals, in strange shapes and exotic colors, glittering dully in a cave behind a waterfall somewhere. I love them in the home, where their lovely texture and unusual shapes make them simultaneously luxe and modern. Here are some ideas for bringing a little natural beauty into your abode — no matter your budget.

This is an excellent source for inexpensive rocks: http://theevolutionstore.com/store/minerals/
I think the "low" options are much less tacky than the "high" options. Interestingly enough.
I second The Evolution Store, I really want one of their malachite boxes. It's definitely a must-see store in SoHo. I'm also a fan of Great South Gems, I've ordered from them in the past and I've been pretty happy with my purchases and their online selection. http://www.greatsouth.net/
Wow, these are all crazy expensive. If you want pretty rocks, I recommend googling local rock & gem shows in your area. It will be cheaper usually, and the money goes to local hobbyists rather than a company that probably scooped up a bunch of product from China. Or, if you DO go the internet route: eBay. Lots of rock sellers on eBay for relatively cheap (though a lot of them are located directly in Asia, but with good shipping deals. if you're effectively buying from Asia either way, might as well cut out the middle man).
Point of clarity: rocks are made up of minerals - most of these items are minerals. Also, the best rocks are the ones you get for free. :)
I really like the coasters and wine stopper, though.
