Lilly Pulitzer's name is synonymous with a certain preppy, colorful, easy going lifestyle; the idea of slipping into one of her famous shift dresses after a tennis lesson, before enjoying your pre-dinner cocktail. Well, that is one version of the fantasy Lilly-life and now, moving the Palm Beach dream a little closer to a reality is possible with a line of wonderfully colorful, just a teeny bit kitschy, definitely stylish furniture pieces.
The big Lilly Pulitzer Home showroom at High Point brought about a total bees-to-honey reaction in me. As soon as I caught a glimpse of it down the hallway, I was drawn to it, stumbling forward quickly with my camera already out and ready. I love anything with even a hint of Chinoiserie, especially in conjunction with bold color and modern lines, three things this collection is all about.

If you. like me, gravitate towards classic shapes in poppy colors and prints, then this is a line to keep an eye out for - currently available to the trade, you can find a dealer on the Lilly Pulitzer Home website.

Shaw's Original Fir...
There are some pretty nice pieces. I especially like those fuscia chairs and the colors in the plaid.
I like the ghost face pillow in the first pic!
OK. When I see a bedroom like the one shown above (which is a showroom piece, but I've seen real ones set up that way too), I have only one thought. I hope my account is not suspended for this thought, because I am being completely honest and I know in my heart I'm not the only one thinking it. When you have a bed way out from the wall, and the bedside tables have no drawers or shelves ... um, where do people put the sex toys?
(Or, for that matter, the chapstick and comfy socks. But I think about them second.)
Form should foliow function. That's all I'm saying.
I am utterly in love with the color scheme for the bedroom. And the bed itself is simply beautiful, of course.
It's an excellent question.
