High Wire Act: DIY Shower Curtain Rod

High Wire Act: DIY Shower Curtain Rod

While researching replacement shower rods for our clawfoot bathtub we spotted this peculiar shower curtain system. It doesn't exactly appeal to us but there is something intriguing nonetheless...

It could just be that we like to see things done a little differently because it inspires us to build off of an idea and apply the concepts to an alternate situation. We spotted this unusual shower curtain set-up on a personal blog called Chronically Uncool. (We like the blogger's tagline: "I make things. This blog documents my projects and motivates me to finish them.")

The inventor used a curtain wire from Target, separated drapery clips, and lamp chain cut to size. She compares the functionality to hospital curtain tracking systems but much cheaper.

While respecting this blogger's "thinking outside the box", we'd love to hear any of your own shower curtain rod inventions or modifications.

Oh, and for our own shower rod we're probably going to stick with the 'ole rectangular shower rod set-up that hangs from the ceiling...
