We've always admired a strong, cushy armchair -- the perfect place to crash with a book and blanket. Somehow, one in a shade of green seems even more inviting. If you're a fan of the green armchair, here are two that are similar yet still their own special creature...jump below for info:
The classic Bantam, gets quartered into DWR's lovely Bantam Armchair, $1,100. Lush and supple, this chair adds a simple elegance to any area.
If the Bantam had a flashy, younger sister it would be Target's Clybourn Loft Chair, $429.99. Similar lines to the Bantam, the Clybourn is offered in unexpected velvet.
Both chairs feature button tufting and tapered wooden legs. What do you think; which one is your pick?

I would not consider the Bantam high, for this to work we would have to really pick a nice lounge chair. Like the Florence Knoll armchair. The Bantam is a joke, there has been enough bad reviews on AT.
I have the bantam and really like it. What were the bad reviews?
Neither.
The Petrie Chair at Crate & Barrel at $899 looks very much like the DWR chair and is available in many more colors as well as being constructed with soy-based foams.

...although the Grace Chair at Room & Board at $899 is my preference for it's curvier lines and higher back.

I do love the Bantam, but the Target one looks very cheap, especially for that price. It doesn't appear that it would hold up very well after much use.
I have the Corona chair from Macy's (similar to the Bantam which I couldn't afford) and it is so very comfortable and only about $100 more than the Target chair, and is very well constructed.
I vote for what is behind Door Number 3:

Slightly more expensive than the Target one but a higher quality all around. Tons of fabric choices too.
I love hessilou's door number 3 option! What a great chair-
Yes but how do you buy things from EQ3...?
crzybckyf, there are catalogs available online and I think you can order over the phone.

There are limited stores across the US since it is a Canadian company.
I just purchased the Corona loveseat and chair from Macy's. Took forever to finally get them but it was delivered two weeks ago. Looks identical to the DWR Bantam at 1/2 of the price. So far, very comfortable. I know the Corona series has been profiled here on AT and it's grabbed positive reviews. Actually, the post and the reviews are what helped sell me on them.

Check it out before you drop the cash on the Bantam see for yourself.
without a doubt...get the Corona chair from Macy's. Much better looking than the Clyborn and I don't doubt much better quality. I think it goes for about $550.00 when on sale...and if you keep your eye on it, it'll go lower.
The clyborn loft chair looks very "schlumpy".
Target is great for a lot of things... Furniture isn't one of them.
even though others have said it, if you want the cheaper price tag but the same look, corona from macys. just got out of one to come in her to the computer. I did notice that the seat cushions on ours seemed to soften quite a bit, pretty quick. but if i ever need to get them redone it's not that hard to do. probably the easiest thing to fix. we got the full size sofa and 2 arm chairs, shipped for around 1800
