The recession is prompting more visits to historic homes and artist sites throughout the U.S. “Compared to the cost of a theatre or movie ticket, seeing an artist’s home or historic site is a relative bargain” explains Helen Harrison, director of the Pollock-Krasner House in The Art Newspaper. Just want to say that I'm *green* with envy over that first house...

Just saw Olana in Hudson NY and Mabry-Hazen House in Knoxville TN. Loved them and seeing two such different houses from the same era made it more interesting. Both towns were excellent places to visit.
