Thank you so much for including my wreath ornaments in your selection of eco-friendly holiday decorations. I was inspired by my mom who turned an old coat lining into festive bear ornaments years ago. I'm passionate about sustainability and thrilled about handcrafting these ornaments. All my best, Mandy
how is the plywood tree eco friendly? cut down a tree to make that?
Well Jeremy, for years we pondered whether to get a live tree, cut tree or an artificial tree. We could never decide which option was the most responsible for our family and the environment. Live trees don’t have a great survival rate and you can only keep them inside for 1 week. Cut evergreen trees aren’t a great option, because you use the tree just once and the farming practices might not be sustainable. Regular artificial trees can be re-used, but we were concerned about the chemicals used to make them and off-gassing. We couldn’t find a low-VOC artificial tree on the market. Our plywood tree shouldn’t off-gas much and should survive to be re-used year after year. In our book, that makes it eco-friendly.
