Felted pom pom garlands are a charming addition to holiday decor. Light-weight and soft, they're easy to hang and won't break the way lights and ornaments can. With many uses, pom pom garlands are versatile, vibrant and fun.
Use them to make a drawing on a wall like in Photo 1. They also look great on mantles, over windows, above beds and on holiday trees.

White Enamel Flatwa...
I miss the days when the Christmas season didn't begin until after Thanksgiving. It made it feel like a more special time instead of a 2 month drawn out thing. Cute decorations.
Adorable.... wish I could afford.
So make it already ;)
cute but too soon!
These are very easy to make.
Please do share! Or do you have a website you can send us DIYers?
All you need is the carded, dyed wool, a little hot water, dish soap & hands - oh, & time. This is easy, mindless action for the hands, while watching tv. The wool can be found online (roving wool), at textile specialty stores, or (if you REALLY want to DIY) from herders.
Pull off a handful, hold it down in the soapy water to make sure the water & soap get all the way through. The water should be as hot as you can stand. Begin shaping it into a ball & start gently rolling it into the desired shape, gradually rolling it tighter and tighter. Take it out of the water & roll it until it stops dripping, rolling tighter & tighter, all the while.
Once it stops dripping, you can just get comfy. Well - as long as you keep rolling, that is. I made half a dozen in 2 days & the muscles in my hands were so sore! The more pressure you apply (as it gets firmer), the stronger the ball will be. If you keep going, you can get them tight enough, they will even bounce. The bigger the handful you start with, the bigger you finished ball will be, mine were finished (ok, I was finished) at about 5% of the size of the handful I started with. But, if you can roll a ball of clay or dough, you can make felt balls.
Wow, sounds like it might just be easier to buty them! ;)
Yep, definitely way too labor-intensive for me to make the balls, and I don't think it would be cost-effective to buy that much wool roving. You can buy the balls and string them yourself. You can find them here: http://www.ornamentea.com/feltballs.htm
Way easier to buy them. You can buy the felted balls here as well! Very good prices. https://www.etsy.com/listing/93258977/felt-balls-custom-100-count-you-choose
It's the same shop from picture #3 The Fickle Felt Tree, the shop sells supplies as well as pre-made garlands. But its even easier to buy it pre-made!!! That's what I did and the Christmas garlands are adorable!
