Holiday Cheer: Long Beach's Naples Canals

If you're looking for a date night holiday treat let us recommend Naples Canals this time of year. If you're not familar, Long Beach has this tiny pocket built similar to the South Bay's Venice. Small boat/gondola worthy canals that have walk ways all around the island. Island residents go all out for the annual boat parade [that we missed with a bout of the flu] but holiday decorations are up through Christmas and there are tons of people out with their families and sweethearts taking in every cheesy holiday decoration known to man. There is something sweet about all of it though, even the house filled with hundreds of Christmas teddy bears [the only time of the year a home should venture there]. We recommend stopping for some hot chocolate at your favorite coffee store and pocket a chocolate chip cookie to nibble on. If you're not in the holiday mood yet this will bring you on over. Located Off of 2nd street Between PCH and Bayshore Ave. Adjacent to Belmont Shore. If you head south on Ravena Drive off of 2nd just find a parking spot and follow the steady stream of people.
