I made some Mason Jar snow globes just like the picture here for about $4 each last year after seeing them in Anthropologie for $58 and deciding I could do it. It was fun, took about 10 minutes to make four or five and they're really cute.
Great guide! I love handmade decorations.
love the mason jar globe and the driftwood tree. I wonder if the driftwood tree could be recreated with cork..
Sounds like a great way to repurpose wine corks to me. Corks are easily sliced with a razor blade; slice one lengthwise for the trunk. Dual purpose too...wall art which can be pressed into service as a trivet when needed. I dare you to try it :)
I'm totally making those Mason jar trees. Even the etsy guy's thrifty $18 + $7 shipping seems steep compared to $4 or $5 of fun time spent in front of "A Christmas Story" making decorations.
Love the vintage brooch wreath! Seems to me that'd be fairly easy to make on the cheap by collecting silver, gold and white pieces from consignment shops, your own jewelry box, etc., and wiring them into a pre-existing wire wreath mold.
