Mall staple Pier One can be a great source for inexpensive home accents. Right now, with a lot of stuff on sale, is a great time to pick up a few things to perk up your home decor. Here are a few items we're particularly liking, some of which we've blogged before...

- This felt petals pillow reminds us of those we've seen elsewhere for two and three times the price.
- Looking for a simple table lamp? Try this one.
- Use these White Canisters with Wooden Lids on a desk or in the bathroom.
- The bird craze may be winding down but we're still a fan of these Birds on a Tree Trunk vase. On sale.
- We'd fill these herb pots with succulents and use the tray as a catch-all in our bathroom.
- You can't go wrong with the classic Hanging Paper Lantern. Get out your paints to personalize it.
- If you'd like to try a pair of Foo Dogs in your home, Pier One has them in turquoise and orange. $20 a pair.
- This Hanging Wicker Lamp would be great over a dining table. Or try one on either side of a bed.

I love the bird vases- but I hate their website. Really annoying that there is no actual web store.

Hello! I am a Sales Associate at Pier 1 and I can explain the terrible website....or vent about it. The Pier 1 website, which I've recently learned, has become more of an 'Online Catalog', and the really frustrating thing is, is that it doesn't show all the merchandise carried by most stores because they want to get people to actually 'come into' the stores to shop. I love working there, but that is one huge thing that bothers me about their website. I completely agree with you, Quietcal!
To AlmostAD....I have to agree with you, too. There are certain items, Pier 1 or otherwise, where I think..."Who the hell came up with this cheesy idea and how did they ever sell it?". It's the so-called, wonderful world of retail.....I guess!? Whether we agree with it or not.
If you cut off the birds, will you send them to me?
I LOVE Pier One and am due to hit it up this week. Their placemat/runner selection is great for wall hangings. And I need some of those stemless wine glasses for air plants and shells.
FYI, I just checked the site and the Foo dogs are $20 each. I want the orange ones!
those canisters are great. sleek and simple but still some personality. i also really like the coral frame.
