"Designing couple delivers wildly unique creations while parenting seven kids in new HGTV series." That's a direct quote from the email we just received from Bob and Cortney's PR peeps! The new show, Home by Novogratz, premieres July 16 on HGTV! Why am I so excited? I'll tell you.

I'm so excited because Cortney Novogratz and I have so much in common. She's from the South. I'm from the South. Cortney shops at Parisian flea markets. I fantasize about shopping at Parisian flea markets. Her husband wears cool pants. My husband wears pants. She climbs up on the kitchen countertops to reach the top cabinets while she's 9 months pregnant. I, too, spend much time in the kitchen when I'm pregnant.
According to the email we received, in the first episode Robert and Cortney will redesign a fixer-upper in Rockaway Beach near NYC. "The homeowners, who are on a limited budget, love surfing, bright colors, patterns and Betsey Johnson!" Betsey Johnson? I knew it!
Watch the stylish chaos ensue July 16 on HGTV.

I've seen houses they have renovated, and they are interesting and high end. But the ultra hipster thing is kind of annoying. And the fact that they use the 7 kids as a PR ploy (how happy do those kids look in that picture?) is even more problematic to me...
Yay! I just might have to get cable now...
@leith have you ever tried to get a group of kids that large to smile all at the same time and not make silly faces or those obnoxious put-on grins? Its easier to just have them straight-faced:)
love them! how are they using their children as a ploy? their children are part of who they are, so of course they are going to incorporate their kids into their career and livelihood. its not that serious....relax!
I am also extremely excited! Plus, I love how much you have in common! :) I loved their Bravo show. I hope this one ended up on Hulu Plus so I can watch it!
yay, I'm excited to see their new show! I love their design work and style, but also love how on their Bravo show, the showed lots of family stuff - like the mom dealing with her daughters asking for cell phones. (And the dad saying: "but I didn't get a cell phone until I was like 32!")
I too, love how much you both have in common - that was awesome! I am also looking forward to their new show!
their show on bravo was very entertaining and they seem far more talented than most of the "hosts" on hgtv. (if i see that network paint one more wall beige...!)
i'm looking forward to the new show.
very excited. i hope hgtv puts all the episodes online, as i don't have cable. and katie - you're a great writer....your list of similarities made me lol.
