I sat in those chairs at the store last weekend and they were not comfortable at all. Too bad, I was so excited about the price!

I'm very leery of puchasing upholstered items from an online site when you can't sit in them to test out how comfortable they are. If you're unhappy with the quality, it's always spendy and a pain to ship such large items back. That said, are the larger furniture items on display in the store?

The chairs are on sale for $200 at certain Chicago Target locations - a little cheeper looking in person although still great for the price. Also, I agree - not the most comfortable piece for "real" lounging.

If you don't like the way the chair sits, you can always have the seat cushion restuffed so that it is more comfortable.

if only they would ship to Canada....

I got the cutest ottoman there for 34 bucks but it isn't on the website.

I like some of the chairs Target has on their site, but the reviews always complain about how stiff they are. Has anyone had a Target chair for awhile- do the chairs break in? When I first bought my couch (from a name brand furniture store) it was stiff, but it broke in after only a few weeks of use. Are the upholstered Target chairs like this?

I agree with allijean, those chairs are suprisingly uncomfortable.

Great stuff. I went to the site and purchased a few things. As for the comments on the chairs, I have made many mistakes with upholstered furniture over the years, and have found that you get what you pay for in that area. Room and Board has reliably comfortable and well-made upholstered chairs that are reasonably priced for the quality.

My local Target has quite a few solid wood tables which were very affordably priced -- nothing over $300, I think, for what looked like well-made tables (they certainly were heavy!).

Some mentioned that it took two or three weeks to break in some similar chairs.

I bought a chair from target two years ago. It was extremely uncomfortable in the beginning but it broke in nicely and now extremely comfortable

I took a look at the Umbra line when I was in my local Target yesterday and I gotta say, what I saw was not so great in bothe design and quality.

I bought the green gourd lamp earlier this week, and I love it! I just may go back for that gray console.

Y'know what would be great? What would be great: Target opening a few warehouse spaces in every state where people could see/feel/test online-only furniture items before buying.

Britty: It sounds like maybe the chair broke you in. :)

As to the sale, Target's site usability has gone wayy down. How many clicks to find the dimensions of a table? Try it yourself, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. "View all?"

Overall I've really like the style of products they have this year. I was pleasantly surprised to see wallpaper in the mix.
