Wednesday's Chron's H&G
mostly veered from the topic of home design except for two articles: one on the Marin Designers Showcase, and the other on architects designing for one-person households.
Marin Designers Showcase: Designers gave an "Old World" feel to a new 6,000-square-foot family villa in San Rafael. How? They used "rich paint colors..., sumptuous silks and BIG furniture." (6,000-square foot villa?)
Living single: While we agree that designing for single people is somewhat different than designing for a couple or a family, not one single person we know "wants to know where to store wine" or "cares more about having enough room for entertaining" -- or wants "two separate wet bars, sliding glass interior doors that can be thrown open for cocktail parties, and a 30-foot trickling waterfall." And you, dear readers? Are we just hanging out with the un-cool crowd?
