Home Habits: 4 Ways to Get More Pep in Your Step All Day

Everybody wants more energy but not everyone realizes that their home could be contributing to their lackluster reserves. A few tweaks to your home habits could be all that's standing between you and an active day.

Rest up

You can't have a peppy day without proper rest. That means not only making sure you fit in a solid amount but also that it's good quality sleep, too. To that end, make your bedroom sleep central. Ditch the screens, the TV, the work and the stress from that room so the minute your head hits the pillow, you can mentally separate from all that and really let yourself relax.

Nurture natural light

One of the best ways to wake up with energy? Get some light in your system first thing. Make sure you're able to sit somewhere in your house while you have your coffee in the morning where you will soak up some rays and tell your brain it's time to get moving. It almost works better than the coffee!

Clear clutter

Even if you don't realize it's happening, living amidst clutter may mentally stress you (not to mention all the extra time you spend looking for stuff you need). Don't sap that energy! Do regular sweeps; the time you spend on tidying will pay off when you can more easily focus on work or fun chez toi.

Keep the kitchen stocked

Eating well is such an important factor in keeping your energy up, so make sure you're always stocked with healthy snacks and meal ingredients. Nothing is worse than that hangry feeling creeping up. Make sure you have the supplies to tame the rumbly stomach beast and give yourself a mid-afternoon energy burst.
