What do you listen to while you work?
Sometimes I really prefer silence in order to concentrate. Though it’s never really silent in New York City. When the construction noise gets too much, most any guy with an acoustic guitar will make it to my playlist.
How do you listen?Desktop computer speakers. We have an Eames Table in light ash that serves as our workspace. It’s a beautiful simple piece that I try to keep uncluttered. It’s too pretty to cover up.
Do you have any favorite music websites/providers?
Pandora is a good way to find new artists.
Does music influence your work?
I can’t say that it directly influences my work but I listen to certain artists based on my mood. I play a lot of Nickel Creek in the fall and Frank Sinatra around Christmastime.
Where do you find music recommendations? Who influences your musical taste?
I can be pretty lazy about finding new music. My husband and I share similar taste in music and he keeps me up to date. I usually get stuck in a music rut until one of my favorite artist produces a new album.
What song or artist best represents the work you create?
Chris Thile plays the mandolin and his music is smooth and methodical, but also kind of all over the place.

An Eames Lounge Chair. I’m a fan of easy-listening music that helps me relax and the lounge chair is a timeless piece to rest your feet.

As a native New Yorker that is temporarily living in California I don't see how someone who appears to not be a New Yorker could help me connect to my city. I've seen her recommendations on her site for pizza in New York City and from that I would say it is likely she is not a New York native or even someone that has lived there most of her life. Recommending traditional Italian style pizza over New York style pizza is something few New Yorkers would do. Traditional Italian pizza is textureless and flavorless in comparison. And I say that as someone who has eaten plenty of pizza in Italy. It doesn't get better than New York style pizza.
