Amy Butler's sewing book from Chronicle, In Stitches, features her signature colorful fabrics in the photos of the projects - which makes them instantly appealing. It has "more modern than you would expect" ideas and projects and really gorgeous interior photography - we were happy to add it to our bookshelf this holiday season.
There are plenty of sewing projects for the home including: floor cushions, multiple throw pillows, placemats and napkins, a patchwork throw and duvet cover, laundry bag and a hanging organizer.
In fact, the idea of home is a theme throughout; the book's chapters are organized as rooms, with projects in the following categories: Living Room, Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom and Office.
It has 25 projects in all, with patterns included in a packet at the front of the book. We haven't attempted anything from it yet, but are loving flipping through, dreaming (of having the time) and hoping (that our skills are up to the test) of completing something stylish soon.
Also coming up from Amy Butler, a lifestyle book for Stewart, Tabori & Chang entitled "Midwest Modern"...
