The sad truth a lot of tech-loving folks never want to admit, but their design sensitive partners would like them to fess up to, is that most home tech components are not easy on the eyes, especially since most of us have mismatched components. Like kitchen appliances, we're in the camp that likes to hide away what we're not using, unless it's used daily and the appliance/component is cumbersome. But what you can't put away, you can always hide...and such is the case with this cool IKEA hack.

Torbjørn Vatn of Oslo, Norway sent in his IKEA Hacker project which utilized a perfect material to hide away his home audio/video and home theater PC equipment: speaker fabric. The overall effect is his small IKEA shelving unit turned into TV stand now looks like a sleek integrated speaker, but really hides a myriad of equipment. Check out the simple step-by-step instructions and behind the screen photos over at Ikea Hacker.
