As you know, the fabric is a hugely important part of your re-upholstery project.

www.diyupholsterysupply.com is fantastic! I watched his videos several times before attempting anything. My first two major upholstery projects were a wingback loveseat and a sectional sofa. I breezed through them with the help of the videos and about a gallon of vodka. :)
Another great blog detailing upholstery tips is http://charishumin.blogspot.com/. She doesn't post anymore (at least in the past 3 months), but her posts about upholstery are invaluable.
I teach upholstery 4 times a week at my studio in Indianapolis. Lots of tutorials on modhomeec.com, apartmenttherapy.com-Shelly, and Curbly.com. Plus, I answer your questions when you get in a bind.

Matthew Haly of The Furniture Joint offers great upholstery classes in NYC. Not for the faint of heart but definitely worth learning the proper techniques. His DIY upholstery book is an added bonus. (furniturejoint.com)
