To get ready for the colder weather, I'm looking for good indoor activities. A light table or light box is always a good thing to have on hand. And instead of buying one, we found a great tutorial to make your own.
There are so many great activities to try with a light table - looking at leaves, finger painting, playing with shapes - let your imagination run wild. For a detailed tutorial on how to create your own (with materials you might already have), head over to Testy Yet Trying.

I think I've got everything I need to try this (even little battery powered lights surprisingly!). I'm trying to think of more activities to do with a 2 year old on one though. Any ideas? Those colored shapes look cool, but I definitely don't own those already. Any 'around the house' stuff to try? Would coloring some sugar work like that colored sand? Thanks for any more ideas/tips you guys can offer!
